VPRS 18904 Medical Executive Committee / Clinical Directors Council, Agendas, Minutes and Correspondence

This series comprises agendas, minutes, papers and correspondence from the Medical Executive Committee, also known as the Senior Medical Staff Committee of the Mount Royal Hospital (VA 1280). Also included are the minutes and papers of the Clinical Directors Council of the Melbourne Extended Care and Rehabilitation Service (VA 5265), which was the result of the amalgamation of Mount Royal and the Greenvale Centre (VA 5267). This committee/council was the senior medical/clinical group responsible for providing advice on strategic and operational issues of relevance to clinical activities at the hospital. The Committee provided a framework for the treatment of clinical practice and an evaluation of clinical activities. This included assessment of quality of care in clinical areas, assessment of professional performance of the medical staff, and also allowed for a forum for discussion on policy matters concerning medical practice and services.  There is a gap in the extant records from 1988 – 1996, and from 1999 – 2000.
