Additional file 1. Differentially expressed transcripts in TNF treated HBMVEC compared to media treatment. HBMVEC were incubated with TNF (10 ng/ml) or media alone for 6 h. Total RNA was extracted, reverse-transcribed, amplified and hybridized to a microarray. Gene expression profiles were generated using a robust multi-array average algorithm followed by quantile normalization and batch correction. Data represents three independent experiments, each done in triplicate. 514 transcripts were significantly differentially abundant between experimental groups using a Student’s t test and FDR (fold change > 2, FDR ≤ 0.01, p < 0.005).
