University of Silesia - Collection of Psylloidea

The collection Psylloidea is a collection derived from over 40 years of scientific work by Professor Sędzimir Maciej Klimaszewski, who studied this group of insects, conducted field research, collected specimens of the insects and created their collection. This collection also includes specimens collected during scientific expeditions, mainly from Mongolia, and some materials obtained through exchange with other scientists. The collection was enriched with new specimens by Jowita Drohojowska. Currently, there are approximately 3,000 marked specimens, classified into 240 species from 6 families of colis. This is the so-called dry collection, and only a small part of it (5%) is in the form of microscopic preparations.
