We sequenced the whole genomes of 314ST40 S. derby isolates isolated from sentinel surveillance of infectious diarrhea pathogen profiles, food poisoning epidemic surveillance and food safety risk surveillance in Shenzhen from 2011 to 2021 to characterize the genomic diversity and the evolutionary relationship of transmission among different hosts in the Shenzhen region. In addition, we integrated WGS-based in silico AMR gene testing and antimicrobial susceptibility testing to analyse the resistance characteristics and related molecular features of ST40S.Derby in Shenzhen to understand its epidemiological characteristics and to guide clinical and veterinary antibiotic use and management.
