资源简介:

The dataset was conducted at the Danby grassland at York University Keele Campus on Tuesday September 22 2015. The study took place during the approximate time of 2:30pm to 3:30pm. At the time of collection the temperature was 21 °C, with no clouds in the sky and some moisture in the soil. This study was conducted by Ecology students, which included myself, Katie, Katherine, Ava and Ashley. A transect tape was randomly placed on the grassland where Asclepias syriaca (milkweeds) were observed. The transect was 668 inches long and had a radius of approximately 39 inches (1m) on either side of the transect tape. Once a milkweed was spotted within the designated area a member of the team would count the leaves on the plant while height and distanced between the closest milkweed was measured. Once this data was collected we gave the crowdedness a number within the scale of 0-3 within a 50cm parameter (0 being next to no crowding, to 3 being crowded, see metadata for greater detail on scale). This process was repeated until 50 milkweeds along the transect line where documented.
