Genome sequencing for 5 Lactobacillus species. Ligilactobacillus salivarius cp400

Lactobacillus salivarius is part of the vertebrate indigenous microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract, oral cavity and milk. The properties associated with some L. salivarius strainshave lead to an increasing interest in the probiotic utility of this species. Here we describe the draft genome of the pig isolate L. salivarius cp400. The genome sequence provides important insights into the genetic basis of L. salivarius gastrointestinal niche specialization.
