Share of people who recently took sick leave in the Netherlands 2022, by age group

In 2022, over half of the employees in the Netherlands had taken sick leave in the previous year. 25-to 54-year-olds had the highest absence rate, at over 45 percent. By comparison, of the 65-to 74-year-olds, just over 40 percent had taken sick days in the past 12 months.
