资源简介:
Optimising quality and length of life in low survival cancers, such as upper gastrointestinal cancers, is imperative. This Thesis examined the relationships between skeletal muscle stores, nutrition status, quality of life, and survival in people with upper gastrointestinal cancer. Through a series of studies, it’s demonstrated that poor nutrition status is a key element in the interplay between skeletal muscle depletion and poor quality of life and survival. There is an urgent need to develop interventions that can effectively improve nutrition status, to protect skeletal muscle mass, quality of life and length of survival in people with upper gastrointestinal cancers.
