Metagenomic sequencing data from Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Probio87 intervention in adults with functional constipation

To evaluate the therapeutic potential of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Probio87 in adults with functional constipation (FC), a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted. A total of 101 adults meeting the Rome IV diagnostic criteria for FC were enrolled. All participants received a standardized healthy lifestyle intervention and were randomly allocated to receive either Probio87 (n = 51) or placebo (n = 50) for 8 weeks, followed by a 4-week follow-up assessment.
