5.6 Flowing arm movement with hand-foot coordination
收藏资源简介:
This pair of videos highlights a student’s development in full-body synchronisation and musical delivery. While the first performance demonstrates solid technical groundwork—with commendable hand-foot coordination and precise note accuracy—the musicality remains somewhat restrained by a focus on mechanical execution. In the second video, there is a clear shift toward unrestricted movement. By freeing the arms from a singular concentration on the keys, the student engages her entire body—arms, torso, and posture—in a synchronised, flowing motion. This holistic engagement produces a more balanced, “breathed” tonal quality and a superior legato connection between chord progressions. The transition from isolated finger-hand work to full-body involvement transforms the performance into a vivid visual and auditory manifestation of the music’s emotional narrative. These videos form part of a broader research project investigating the development of coordinated movement in piano performance, with applications in piano pedagogy, injury prevention, and performance enhancement.
