Approximate distribution of the reindeer herding area in Sweden Inspire display service

The WMS service shows the approximate extent of reindeer herding in Sweden and is the Sami Parliament’s way of providing a conceptual picture of where reindeer herding rights are currently exercised and can be considered to exist on the basis of, among other things, the restoration of ancient memory. For some areas there is disagreement about the extent of reindeer herding rights. In support of the documentation, the Commission’s inquiry (SOU2016:14) has been used. It intended to provide guidance on where reindeer herding rights may exist to a greater or lesser extent. The compilation of knowledge bases made by the Inquiry is extensive and can be used to give indications about the reindeer herding right to extend, even if the conclusions and positions of the Inquiry can be questioned.
