Endeavour South Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz Deployed 2019-09-20

The RDI Workhorse Long Ranger ADCP 75 kHz (3868) was deployed on 2019-09-20 at Endeavour South. This south section of the Endeavour Hydrothermal Vents includes two moorings to monitor the regional circulation. This device is a Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz. Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) are hydroacoustic instruments, similar to sonars. ADCPs measure current speed and direction at multiple predetermined depths simultaneously. ADCPs use the Doppler effect of sound waves that are scattered by particles in seawater over a depth range. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.RDI Workhorse Long Ranger型75kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪（Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler，ADCP，编号3868）于2019年9月20日部署于恩德文特南部海域（Endeavour South）。恩德文特热液喷口区（Endeavour Hydrothermal Vents）的南部片区设有两套锚系监测设备，用于监测区域环流。该设备为75kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪。声学多普勒流速剖面仪（ADCP）属于水声仪器，其工作原理与声呐类似，可同时测量多个预设深度处的海流流速与流向。ADCP依托声波多普勒效应开展工作：在指定深度范围内，声波被海水中的颗粒物散射，设备通过捕获散射声波获取海流相关数据。本次部署的设备搭载于固定式平台之上。本次部署获取的所有数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施对外开放；所有数据均遵循既定规范开展质量控制，并生成标准化衍生数据产品。
