Association between anthropometric criteria and body composition among children aged 6–59 months with uncomplicated severe acute malnutrition: a prospective cohort study from South Sudan
收藏资源简介:
This dataset includes fully anonymized individual-level anthropometric and body composition measurements collected from children aged 6–59 months diagnosed with uncomplicated severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and enrolled in outpatient therapeutic programs (OTP) in Aweil Centre County, South Sudan. Data were collected at admission, and discharge according to the South Sudan National CMAM protocol. Variables include weight, height/length, MUAC, triceps skinfold thickness (TSF), WHO 2006 z-scores (WHZ, WAZ, HAZ), and bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA)-derived indicators, including fat mass (FM), fat‑free mass (FFM), fat mass index (FMI), fat‑free mass index (FFMI), total body water (TBW%), and phase angle (PhA). The dataset supports the manuscript “Association between anthropometric criteria and body composition among children aged 6–59 months with uncomplicated severe acute malnutrition” submitted to PLOS ONE. All personal identifiers have been removed. The dataset is shared to promote transparency, replicability, and further research on nutritional recovery in children with SAM.
