Harvest index (HI), also named the coefficient of economic yield, is closely associated with the transport and distribution of photosynthates, organ development, and plant architecture in B.napus. This project combined miRNA and mRNA profiling revealed miRNAs, genes, pathways and several miRNA-mRNA pairs involved HI formation, shedding light on possible mechanisms for HI in B.napus. The genes, miRNAs and pathways identified here will be valuable targets for future improvement of HI in B. napus.
