资源简介:
Health providers are key gate keepers in reducing unmet need for family planning. If all unmet need for family planning in Uganda (34%) is met, maternal mortality would drop by 40% (UDHS 2011). Providers also give post abortion care (PAC) therefore the Women's Health Program (WHP) has sought to improve provider skills and perceptions towards IUDs for family planning and misoprostol for PACE among supported network of clinics branded Profam. This study aims to monitor providers knowledge and perceptions towards IUDs and misoprostol. The study will also examine stakeholder perceptions towards IUDs and review the program implementation process in the last two years. A multi-round cross sectional study design will be used. Face to face structured interviews among Profam providers and non providers will be used to facilitate comparison between intervention and non intervention facilities. Stakeholder perceptions will also be examined using in depth interviews. The process evaluation will use document reviews and in depth discussions with the program implementation team.
