The Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MFCMA) contains seven "national standards" (see appendix B of Fishery Management Plan for the Commercial King and Tanner Crab Fisheries in the Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands (crab FMP)) with which all fishery management plans (FMP) and implementing regulations must be consistent.
