In 2018 an innovative teacher professional learning course was offered to teachers across the Indonesian archipelago. Inspired by Indonesian cultural-historical knowledge - captured in the Pancasila - the course engaged teachers in a collaborative inquiry related to conflict resolution and enabled co-generating a conception of ‘diversity in unity’ through embodiment. The research studies teachers’ motivations, engagement and reflections, drawing upon Deweyan, Indigenous Knowledge and Cultural Historic Activity Theory scholarship in analysis and discussion.
This dataset includes the data as
- access links to the course synchronous (online) video conferencing sessions, as recorded in youtube
- scripts of teachers’ reflective-conversations (as transcribed by Indonesian transcribers from audio conversations)
Key findings and discussions are the focus of a doctoral research study, as presented in the thesis titled: “Emancipating Sensemaking: Teachers’ Learning Experiences within a Pancasila-Inspired Indonesian Interregional Online Collaborative Inquiry Course”
Data Collection geo-location
The data was generated and collected in online forums, with participants residing across the archipelago of Indonesia – Banda Aceh, Medan, Ringkasbitung, Tasikmalaya, Malang, Bali, Waikabubuak, Ambon, Jaya Pura, Sentaini, Makassar, Tana Toraja, Banjarmasin, Pontianak; At the time of generation the researcher was located in Bandung, Indonesia.
