Characterization of Cd-K shell of CdSeS altered pigments

In this experiment we will characterize the Cd-K edge shell of altered CdSeS pigments bound with different materials: lineseed oil, acrylic and vinylic. The pigments will be analyzed both in Fluorescence/Trasmission and TEY. XANES and EXAFS spectra will be collected at the Cd-K edge to observe a change in the interatomic distance with the aging process. Cd-K edge is extremely important as this element is bound both with Se and S in the first shell, and will help to evaluate a change in their environment.
