High resolution Imaging of the Pedernales Earthquake Rupture zone, Ecuador (HIPER2)

Active seismic source experiment (refraction) using up to 45 OBS offshore Ecuador. We deployed 2 dense 2D lines and a 3D grid to investigate the role of fluids, structure and physical properties in an area that experiences seismic and aseismic slip offshore Ecuador. Additionally, three OBSs were deployed following the Mw 5.3 Esmeraldas earthquake that occurred on 27 March 2022, with the objective of recording aftershocks.
