Data Use: This web map serves as the basis for the geospatial analysis of Urban Agriculture (UA) potential in the City of Dallas for its 2023 Comprehensive Urban Agriculture Plan (CUAP); see technical analysis in Appendix C. The map contains layers related to factors that can support, contextualize, and expand UA in Dallas. These include community assets (e.g. faith-based facilities, meal assistance sites, pantries with cold storage, public housing), land opportunities (e.g. public and private vacant parcels, city, county, utilities, and more), health disparities (e.g. diabetes rates, walkability), and existing UA sites and activities (like USDA farmers markets, farm stands, urban farms, hydroponic facilities, community gardens, and more). This web map serves as the basis for the City of Dallas Urban Agriculture and Community Health Explorer application. Initial layers for this analysis were compiled between 2021 and 2022. Both the map and its layers undergo routine maintenance annually; refer to the layer's item details for further information.
