State Union Club of Missouri Records, 1861-1865

<P>The State Union Club of Missouri was organized in St. Louis in late summer 1861 by a group of men sympathetic to the Union cause in the Civil War. By November, there were ward clubs and branches in 36 counties.</P>

<P>Collection contains a minute book of the executive committee, dated September 1861 to September 1862; correspondence and reports to the executive committee; membership roll of the 8th Ward Union Club, St. Louis; and receipts and bills from St. Louis clubs.</P>
