Classification of crashes and near-crashes using elements of the Basic Safety Message

Project Description This dataset contains a subset of SHRP2 NDS data used to validate a classification model to detect crash and near-crash events using elements of the Basic Safety Message. Data Request Scope The dataset contains time-series data, event detail table data, and trip summary table data from a subset of the SHRP 2 NDS crash and near-crash events, along with some associated periods of normal driving (i.e., baselines). Data Specification The data include the following: Time Series Data of 50 random trips during which a crash occurred Time Series Data of 50 random trips during which a near-crash occurred Time Series Data of 50 random trips during which no events occurred Insight (V1) website event summary table Insight (V1) website trip summary table Fields included in the dataset are outlined in the data dictionary files available for download within this entry.
