Intracranial Aneurysm

Aneurysm rupture is the determining clinical situation from the point of view of public health and particular case since it has a high morbidity and mortality rate depending on the degree of subarachnoid hemorrhage present. There are studies that indicate different aspects that are related to the likelihood of aneurysm rupture, being the size the characteristic that varies the most because there are reports of increased risk when aneurysms are large or giant but there are also studies that report that smaller ones are those with higher risk.
The data show that aneurysms that ruptured are slightly smaller in size than those that did not rupture, since the difference is not statistically significant, with our data we can support the idea that rupture depends mostly on the shape of the aneurysm neck, the proximity to a bifurcation, the morphological characteristics of the sac and the pathophysiological conditions of the patient. It is noteworthy that a statistically significant difference was found in the size of internal carotid artery aneurysms in women compared to men. The data have the potential to continue to evaluate size differences by location and perform different types of correlations or analyses related to the surgical management performed on the patient.
