资源简介:
This data package contains the analyzed data used to support the publication "Leaf isoprene and monoterpene emission distribution across hyperdominant tree genera in the Amazon basin," Phytochemistry, in-press. Understanding how plant carbon metabolism responds to environmental variables such as light is central to understanding ecosystem carbon cycling and the production of food, biofuels, and biomaterials. Here, we couple a portable leaf photosynthesis system to an autosampler for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to enable field observations of net photosynthesis simultaneously with emissions of VOCs as a function of light. Following sample collection, VOCs are analyzed using automated thermal desorption-gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry (TD-GC-MS). Leaf isoprenoid GC-MS peak areas and calculated emission rates from 47 different tree species during controlled light response curves are presented across four sites in the Amazon. Within the attached zip file, Excel files are organized by tree species and site name. A single Excel file labeled "SummaryAndStatistics" includes a qualitative summary of our findings. For detailed methods and accompanying data packages, refer to the related material cited under Related References.
