An Individual-based Model of Biofilms

A two-dimensional individual-based Model of Biofilms has been implemented in Fortran. The model can simulate EPS (Extracellular Polymeric Substance) producers, non-producers and EPS matrix. The EPS production can be regulated (positively or negatively) by quorum sensing. The model can be used to study competition between EPS producers and non-producers under quorum sensing regulation of EPS production.

一项基于二维个体模型的生物膜研究已采用Fortran语言实现。该模型能够模拟胞外聚合物（EPS）的生产者、非生产者及其聚合物基质。EPS的产生可通过群体感应进行调控（正向或负向）。该模型可用于研究在EPS生产群体感应调控下的EPS生产者与非生产者之间的竞争。
