Amplicon Sequencing of Corn Silage Microbial Communities Extracted by Different DNA Isolation Methods

This BioProject contains raw 16S rRNA gene (V4 region) amplicon sequencing data from microbial communities associated with corn silage. The data were obtained using two DNA extraction approaches: total DNA extraction from homogenized plant biomass and extraction from a microbe-enriched wash fraction. The dataset enables assessment of how DNA extraction protocols affect the composition and ecological representation of microbial communities in fermented plant substrates. The data are linked to a research article describing the comparative analysis of these DNA extraction methods.
