Marine Protected Areas Coordinates - R7 - CDFW [ds3207]

The coordinates described are solely intended as a visual representation of the areas included and do not replace or supersede the legal definitions. These data include the coordinates that delineate all of California’s marine protected areas (MPAs) as of August, 2024. This dataset reflects the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s best representation of marine protected areas based upon the coordinates provided in California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 632. This dataset is not intended for navigational use or defining legal boundaries. When no coordinates are provided in Section 632 for a given MPA, a point was chosen to best represent the MPA. This version also includes records for complementary federal marine protected areas.
