In this study we assessed the recovery of viruses from soils in New Mexico. Samples were taken from three high elevation locations throughout Northern New Mexico. Samples were processed in parallel using bulk metagenomic sequencing and size-filtered metavirome sequencing in order to compare the recovery of viruses with the two different methods.
