资源简介:
A detailed study of a specific aspect of the Wilson Terrane regional geology was undertaken in the Renegar Glacier region. The aim was to determine: a) why these rocks appear especially veined, the nature of the veining and the structural control of the veining, b) how many fluids have been present and how they have evolved over time and the origins of the fluids, and c) the effects fluids have had on the various rock types in the region. The fieldwork undertaken in the Renegar Glacier area included mapping of the Koettlitz Group involving detailed mapping of different lithologies present, mapping and sampling diorite and gabbro, recording structural data on the deformed early granites, mapping ridges of Koettlitz Group situated southwest of Mt Dromedary involving the study of the different units present, veining and the relationship between veins and the regional structure, and mapping of Koettlitz Group in the lower Renegar focussing on the metamorphic quartz veins and detailed sampling and the recording of structural data relating to the veins.
