Animal by-products 2004-2006
收藏资源简介:
Animal by-products are produced as manure during slaughter, meat and milk processing, in the food trade, in restaurants and commercial kitchens and in agriculture. The aim of the study was to present the quantities and treatment routes of animal by-products in Austria between 2004 and 2006. Excluding farm manure, slaughterhouse waste is the most important animal by-products in terms of volume at around 260,000 tonnes, followed by waste from meat and milk processing, each with slightly more than 100,000 tonnes. During the survey period, the amount of kitchen and food waste collected and the import of animal by-products increased. Around half of animal by-products (excluding manure) are processed into meat-and-bone meal and fat in rendering plants, and another 15-20% are transferred to biogas plants.
