Digital Archive from Archaeological Evaluation at Oxley House, Mersea Road, Abberton, Essex, August 2024

This collection consists of images, site records, a vector graphic and a report from an archaeological evaluation (six trial-trenches) by Colchester Archaeological Trust. Work occurred on land at Oxley House, Mersea Road, Abberton, Essex, in August 2024, in advance of the construction of new dwellings. The site lies close to Abberton Green, a historic green marked on the 1777 Chapman and Andre map. Excavations revealed three post-medieval field boundary ditches, a modern pit and an undated pit.
