A janA-1 mutant line presenting the "janus" phenotype, i.e. mirror-duplication of ventral organelles on the dorsal surface was used to map the gene through allelic contrast analysis. For this, pools of phenotypic and non-phenotypic F2 cells were collected from a mapping outcross and whole-genome sequenced.
