Luminescence properties of Ba2Si3O8:Tb3+ phosphor for solid state lighting

In the present study, Tb³⁺-activated Ba₂Si₃O₈ phosphor was synthesized by using the precipitation method. The structural details and optical properties of the synthesised phosphor have been investigated by X ray difraction data and photoluminescence spectroscopy has been used to study the luminescent properties. ( excitation and emission spectra) at the present sample for solid state lighting. AS the Tb3+ ion is commonly used as an activator for the green emission in Ba₂Si₃O₈ phosphor, the excitation and emission spectra indicated that this phosphor can be effectively excited by 352 nm to exhibit bright green emission centered at 545 nm corrosponding to the F-F transition of trivalent terbioum ions.
