This dataset is an inventory of ribbed moraines throughout Norway which has been produced through a combination of automatically identified landforms via the algorithm (Barnes & Filhol, 2023), ands Norwegian national data (NGU, 2016). These data are in the form of an ESRI shapefile polygon format, with 739 individual entries. Metadata is available for each polygon, derived from Norwegian national elevation model data, calculated hydrology and ice sheet model data extracted at 250 m resolution (Patton et al., 2016; 2017). Metadata are mean values for the entire ribbed moraine field in each case, and are described as follows: Label Details ABT Absolute basal temperature (Patton et al., 2016; 2017) CUR Curvature (Elevation data) DEM Present elevation a.s.l. (Elevation data) FAC Flow accumulation (Calculated hydrology) H3C Ice thickness (Patton et al., 2016; 2017) HGR Hydraulic gradient (Calculated hydrology) HYH Hydraulic head (Calculated hydrology) ISD Elevation a.s.l. before accounting for isostasy (Patton et al., 2016; 2017) ISO Difference between present and isostatic elevation values (Patton et al., 2016; 2017) PMP Pressure melting point (Patton et al., 2016; 2017) SLO Surface slope (Elevation data) VEL Ice velocity (Patton et al., 2016; 2017) HYH-ELEV Hydraulic head without elevation, i.e. hydraulic head accounting only for the influence of ice.
