Long-read (ONT) soil metagenome co-assembly (268k contigs, metaMDBG v1.2)

NCBI Foreign Contamination Screen (FCS)–cleaned derivative of the soil metagenome co-assembly, matching the version deposited to NCBI GenBank under BioProject PRJNA1400213. Internal Oxford Nanopore adaptors flagged by FCS were resolved by splitting each contig at the adaptor (adaptor bases removed); terminal adaptors were trimmed, one foreign contig excluded, and fragments shorter than 200 bp dropped. Result: 269,046 sequences, 5.62 Gbp, with bare ctgNNN identifiers (641 contigs split into suffixed pieces, e.g. ctg170497_1, ctg170497_2). Which version to cite: contig IDs here differ from Version 1.0. The Bakta annotation and gene-set-enrichment analyses in the associated manuscript are keyed to Version 1.0 (native metaMDBG headers) — cite the Version 1.0 DOI (10.5281/zenodo.21369457) to reproduce those analyses. Use this Version 2.0 for the contamination-screened, GenBank-consistent assembly.
