Upper Ocean Thermal Data, Indian Ocean Line IX1 (Fremantle-Sunda Straits), 1987-current

This dataset contains temperature data from the TOGA/WOCE transect IX1 between Australia and Indonesia. Data have been collected since March 1987 and are ongoing. The transect is repeated approximately twice each month. Profiles are obtained approximately every 60km (a 1 degree latitude / 1.5 degree longitude grid). The data are obtained from XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) deployed via the Ship-of-Opportunity Program (SOOP) of the IOC/WMO Integrated Global Ocean Services System (IGOSS), and are now managed by the Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems (JAFOOS), a collaborative venture between CSIRO Marine Research and the Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC).本数据集涵盖澳大利亚与印度尼西亚之间热带海洋与全球大气/世界海洋环流实验（TOGA/WOCE）IX1断面的温度观测数据。该数据自1987年3月起启动采集，目前仍在持续更新。该断面每月约开展两次重复观测，观测剖面大致每隔60公里（对应1°纬度/1.5°经度的网格间距）获取一组。数据来源于隶属于政府间海洋学委员会（IOC）与世界气象组织（WMO）全球海洋综合服务系统（Integrated Global Ocean Services System, IGOSS）的自愿观测船计划（Ship-of-Opportunity Program, SOOP）所投放的投弃式温深仪（expendable bathythermographs, XBT），当前由澳大利亚联合海洋观测系统设施（Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems, JAFOOS）负责管理，该设施是澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织（CSIRO）海洋研究部与澳大利亚气象局研究中心（Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre, BMRC）的合作共建项目。
