Data supporting the publication: Symmetric and asymmetric ceramic-supported polyelectrolyte multilayer nanofiltration membranes.

The research explores different ways to build polyelectrolyte multilayers (PEM) on ultrafiltration membranes. Aim of the study was, to investigate the effects of order and salt content first on model surfaces (whispering gallery mode sensing, WGM) and then on ceramic ultrafiltration membranes (filtration data: pure water permeability and retention) . Furthermore, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of the layers were acquired and the molecular weight cut-of (MWCO) of the membranes were determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC). At last, the retention of organic micro pollutants (OMP) was tested on selected membranes.Following data is included in the dataset: 01_WGM measurements; 02_SEM images; 03_GPC chromatograms; 04_Filtration results; 05_LC-MS results.
