Species invasions dataset

Dynamic species invasions network: sender nodes are species and receiver nodes are regions as defined in the FirstRecords database. Dataset covers four taxonomic groups (i.e., mammals, birds, plants, insects) and a fixed time-frame [1880; 2005] over which the invasion process of the species occurs into the regional set of the 272 pre-specified regions. The data file is in comma separated format, where species - species <em>s</em> country - country <em>c</em> <em>start</em> and <em>stp</em> - defines the start and end time of each time interval. event - end of interval status, 0=censored, 1=invasion event dist - distance to the nearest region <em>c</em> invaded by species <em>s</em> by time <em>stp</em>. num_inv - weighted number of prior invasions in region <em>c</em> trade - logarithm of the sum of annual trade flows between region <em>c</em> and other regions invaded by species <em>s</em> by time <em>stp</em> col - presence of species <em>s</em> at time <em>stp</em> in a region within the area of a colonial power temp_dist - minimum absolute difference in temperature between region <em>c</em> and other regions invaded by species <em>s</em> by time <em>stp</em> pasture - proportion of pasture area in region <em>c </em>at time <em>stp</em> urban - proportion of urban area in region <em>c </em>at time <em>stp</em> cropland - proportion of cropland area in region <em>c </em>at time <em>stp</em> taxonomy - taxonomic group
