资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission. Before the beginning of 1963, these entries are numbered in two continuous series; thereafter a single series for both boys and girls is begun afresh with each new school year. In the single volume of this series presently held, entries for admissions up to and including 2nd February, 1960 are in one hand, with gaps in their numbering, and evidently represent enrolments current at that date which have been transferred to the beginning of this volume from the previous volume of the series. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school is also recorded; this last column is also used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred. The last entry in this series is the initials of the Inspector, recording his viewing of the final volume on the 10th November, 1965. The last enrolment recorded is dated the 31st May of the same year.
