Opportunistic anaerobic pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis (P.gingivalis) has been associated with poor clinical outcomes in patients with oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC). However, precise roles and mechanisms by which P.gingivalis infection enhances OSCC growth/proliferation or resistance to cell death remain elusive. Here, we determined that P.gingivalis infection mediates therapeutic resistance via inhibiting lethal mitophagy in OSCC cells and orthotopic tumors.机会性厌氧病原菌牙龈卟啉单胞菌（Porphyromonas gingivalis，简称P.gingivalis）与口腔鳞状细胞癌（oral squamous cell carcinomas, OSCC）患者的不良临床结局密切相关。然而，牙龈卟啉单胞菌感染促进OSCC生长/增殖或增强其细胞死亡抵抗性的具体作用与机制仍尚不明确。本研究证实，牙龈卟啉单胞菌感染可通过抑制OSCC细胞及原位肿瘤（orthotopic tumors）中的致死性线粒体自噬（mitophagy），介导治疗抵抗。
