资源简介:
As per Montreal Protocol R22 is to be phased out by 2030 AD in all Article 5 countries. Propane (R290) is a viable alternative for R22, but it is flammable. Hence attempts are made to reduce the charge quantity. This paper presents an experimental performance study of a split air conditioner with propane, as a substitute for R22. A split air conditioner of 5.25 kW capacity has been tested for energy efficiency in a Psychrometric test room under standard test conditions as per BIS-1391-1992 Part 2. Domestic test & Export Test B conditions were considered for this study. The results show that as the condenser tube diameter is reduced from 12.7 mm to 6.35mm, the optimum charge got reduced to 320 g and 310 g for DT & ETB conditions respectively.
