Opinions about barriers for women in employment in Italy 2024

Almost 80 percent of Italian women agreed that for a man, it is easier to receive a suitable remuneration for his role and job. This statement is consistent with the high gender wage gap in Italy, as on average, men earn annually 2,300 euros more than women. Moreover, three thirds of the interviewees affirmed that for women it is more difficult to progress in their professional career compared to male colleagues. In addition, 70 percent asserted that the access to politics is easier for men than women, as well as to obtain their desired job. In conclusion, if a female entrepreneur had to start a new business, she would face more difficulties than a businessman, according to 60 percent of the respondents.
