Intervention-free nature/wildland areas in Svalbard
收藏资源简介:
The dataset shows areas in Svalbard that are not directly affected by major nature interventions. Intervention-free natural areas are areas located one kilometer or more in the airline away from natural interventions such as larger buildings, roads, marked tracks, tipping, fillings, communication installations, etc. wilderness areas are located five kilometres or more in the airline away from such interventions. Introductory data that form the basis for the maps are mainly taken from the Norwegian Polar Institute (N-100 map data and aerial photos), as well as from some recent oblique photos. The data set also shows which areas have changed the status of interventions as a result of new interventions and/or natural restorations in the period 1990-2022.
