Drivers of socioeconomic residential segregation in Mexico's metropolitan zones

This repository contains the analytical dataset and R code underlying the empirical analysis reported in the paper. The study examines the structural determinants of two dimensions of socioeconomic residential segregation — evenness (ordinal entropy index) and spatial clustering (Moran's I) — across three stratification groups (low, middle, high) for the 70 most populous metropolitan zones in Mexico. The empirical strategy consists of block-wise OLS regression models with five sequential predictor blocks: controls, income inequality, economic structure, housing market structure, and urban form. This repository supports **replication of the regression results reported in the paper**, using a fully constructed metropolitan-level dataset. Due to data access restrictions on the underlying microdata (INEGI census microdata), this repository does **not** include the full data construction pipeline.
