Beetles (Insecta: Coleoptera) have the highest species diversity, approximately 350,000 species, among all orders. They are composed of the species with diverse food habits. Gut microbes have the possibility to have contributed to this diversification of food habits. The objective of this study is to elucidate the relationship between beetles and their gut microbial community.
