Data for "Major Role of Marine Heatwave and Anthropogenic Climate Change on a Giant Hail Event in Spain"

Hail Size Index data (netCDF) calculated using ERA5 reanalysis hybrid-sigma level data and thundeR rawinsonde processing package. Dataset covers area of SW Europe, period 1940-2022 with 1h steps and spatial resolution of 0.25 deg. This data was used in "Major Role of Marine Heatwave and Anthropogenic Climate Change on a Giant Hail Event in Spain" (https://doi.org/10.1029/2023GL107632). Hail Size Index is based on the formula from https://doi.org/10.1016/j.atmosres.2019.05.010.
