Global Reservoir Sedimentation Rate (GRSR) dataset

The Global Reservoir Sedimentation Rate (GRSR) dataset, developed using the Integrated Reservoir Sedimentation Prediction (IRSP) model, integrates data from Global Dam Watch (GDW) version 1.0, the Original Reservoir Sedimentation Survey Information System (RESIS), academic publications, and water resource agency reports. It provides reservoir sedimentation rate (RSR) estimates for 34,372 reservoirs worldwide, with a total storage capacity of 7,284 km³. This dataset is associated with the study by Gong et al., "Quantifying Global Reservoir Sedimentation Rates," Geophysical Research Letters (under review, 2025).
