We collected 47 Vanessa cardui (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae) samples along the Mediterranean coast of Spain in spring (of 2012, 2014 and 2016) and performed metabarcoding of pollen collected from their bodies to test for potential arrivals from the African continent.
