NOMINATIVE FEATURES OF TRANSPORT LEXEMES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

资源简介:
The theory of nomination is the branch of linguistics that studies the process of naming objects and phenomena — that is, the mechanisms by which linguistic units become linked to reality. Every lexeme forms its name either in a “motivated” way, on the basis of a particular feature, property, or function, or, conversely, in an “unmotivated” way, by being borrowed ready-made from another language. Studying nominative features serves to reveal the history of a word's formation, the cognitive process behind it, and the way a given people classifies reality.
