To determine the phylogenetic relationships among isolates of Bacillus anthracis ecologically established in France, 122 strains have been sequenced using parallel sequencing technology. Comparative genomics, with a focus on SNPs discovery, were then conducted to identify diagnostic SNPs that specifically discriminate regional sub-groups of strains. The 3 present genomes are representative of the 3 canSNP lineages found in France.
